STEP 1
Nomination Phase
Who Can Nominate
- AWOL Members
- AWOL Chapter Executives
- Partner Organizations
- Members of The Public (Where Applicable)
Nomination Methods
- Online nomination form via the AWOL Global website
- Chapter-led nomination submissions
- Special committee recommendations
Nomination Requirements
- Completed nomination form
- Brief profile of nominee
- Statement of impact or justification
- Supporting documents or references (optional)
STEP 2
Eligibility Criteria
Nominees must:
- Demonstrate measurable impact in their field or community
- Uphold ethical standards and good character
- Align with AWOL values and mission
- Meet category-specific eligibility requirements
Some awards may have additional criteria such as years of service, geographic scope, or professional standing.
STEP 3
Screening & Verification
All nominations undergo an initial screening to:
- Validate submitted information
- Confirm eligibility and category alignment
- Eliminate duplicate or incomplete entries
This phase may include background checks, reference verification, or document review conducted by the Awards Secretariat or Chapter Awards Committee.
STEP 4
Evaluation & Scoring
Awards Review Committee
A multi-disciplinary committee reviews shortlisted nominations. The committee may include:

Evaluation Criteria
Nominees are assessed using a standardized scoring framework based on:

STEP 5
Final Approval
- Chapter-level awards are approved by the Chapter Executive Committee
- Regional or Global awards are ratified by the AWOL Global Awards Council

STEP 6
Notification of Awardees
Selected awardees are:
- Chapter-level awards are approved by the Chapter Executive Committee
- Regional or Global awards are ratified by the AWOL Global Awards Council
Unsuccessful nominees may be retained for future consideration where appropriate.
