AWOL UK and Ireland

Chapter Overview

AWOL Continental Europe (All Works of Life) is a charitable organization established in 2015 as a subsidiary of AWOL Global. It brings together Sierra Leoneans across the continent of Europe from every background, united by a shared commitment to national development and community upliftment.
Founded by the late philanthropist Ambassador Moseray Fadika and his colleagues, AWOL has evolved into a global network rooted in service, dignity, and collective progress. AWOL Continental Europe proudly carries this legacy forward, strengthening diaspora engagement and contributing meaningfully to the advancement of Sierra Leone.
As a proud subsidiary of this Global movement, AWOL Continental Europe brings together Sierra Leoneans across mainland Europe who are committed to advancing the organisation’s vision. Our branch reflects the diversity, resilience, and unity that define AWOL’s identity, and we work hand‑in‑hand with the parent body to amplify impact at home and abroad.

Charitable Collaboration
Collaborating with charitable organizations to extend assistance to underserved and vulnerable groups.

Our work is rooted in the belief that Sierra Leone’s progress is a shared responsibility, one that requires unity, compassion, and action from Sierra Leoneans everywhere.

Complementing National Efforts

In addition to our charitable initiatives, AWOL Continental Europe actively complements the efforts of the parent body in nation‑building. We support programs and partnerships that align with the development priorities of the government of the day, contributing to a stronger, more inclusive Sierra Leone. Through collaboration, advocacy, and community mobilization, we strive to ensure that no Sierra Leonean at home or abroad is left behind.

Chapter Annual Achievement Awards

Chapter: The AWOL CE Annual Achievement Awards – Celebrating Excellence Across All Works of Life

One of the flagship events within the AWOL movement is the Annual Achievement Awards, a distinguished ceremony dedicated to recognising Sierra Leoneans who exemplify excellence, leadership, and service across all works of life. This event stands as a powerful reminder of AWOL’s founding belief: that every Sierra Leonean, regardless of background or profession, has the potential to contribute meaningfully to the progress of our nation and its people.
The Awards were established to shine a light on individuals and groups whose work is transforming lives, strengthening communities, and uplifting the image of Sierra Leone both at home and abroad. For AWOL Continental Europe, this tradition holds special significance. Living in the diaspora, Sierra Leoneans across Europe continue to demonstrate resilience, innovation, and a deep commitment to community development. The Annual Achievement Awards provide a platform to honour these contributions and to celebrate the diversity of talent within our global family.

A Celebration of Diaspora Excellence

For Sierra Leoneans living across Europe, the Annual Achievement Awards serve as a unifying moment a celebration of identity, pride, and shared purpose. It is a space where the diaspora gathers to acknowledge the extraordinary efforts of ordinary people who are making a significant difference in their communities. The event also reinforces AWOL Continental Europe’s commitment to complementing the work of the parent body and supporting national development efforts in partnership with the government of the day. By recognising excellence, AWOL inspires others to rise, contribute, and lead with integrity.

Inspiring the Next Generation

Beyond celebration, the Awards play a vital role in motivating young Sierra Leoneans in the diaspora. Seeing role models who have excelled in their fields encourages the next generation to dream boldly, work diligently, and embrace their responsibility to uplift their communities. The Annual Achievement Awards remind us that progress is a collective effort and that when Sierra Leoneans unite across continents, remarkable things happen.
